Sammlung Prof. Peter Heinig

E-Mail: SammlungPeterHeinig@t-online.de

The "PROF. PETER HEINIG COLLECTION" is privately owned and as such is not open to the public. It consists primarily of the artistic estate of the university lecturer and artist Prof Peter Heinig, who died in 1994. Information on the artist can also be found on Wikipedia at https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peter_Heinig.
Peter Heinig's work comprises a large number of pictorial representations, the majority of which are watercolours. Peter Heinig had developed and realised masterful skills in this form of artistic design. He taught this technique to a large number of interested artists and hobby artists of the next generation, especially after his retirement. Many biographies of today's renowned artists cite his name as a reference to his own training as a university lecturer in the didactics of art, which he taught in Cologne and Bonn at the time. In addition to watercolours, Heinig also explored other techniques such as collage, photography and working with ceramics and glass.
In addition to his often realistic depictions of landscapes - especially from the maritime or social sphere - or his still lifes, which are often characterised by floral and blossom motifs, there are also a large number of nude drawings and paintings, as well as abstract and experimental works. He always sought artistic challenges and enjoyed experimenting with colours, shapes and materials. The works shown here bear witness to this.
