In the „Dithmarscher Bauernhaus“ (Dithmarschen farmhouse) the visitor can experience how a farmer’s family lived together under one roof with its animals around 1850. The house itself is about 250 years old. Some of the furniture in it is even older. In the “Landwirtschaftsmuseum” (farming museum) next to it, the great changes of the past 100 years become extremely obvious: The substitution of horsepower with steam engines and tractors, new tools and large machines like e.g. the combine harvester. Furthermore an insight is offered into the changes in living and housekeeping (cooking, washing, shopping).
