Museum for the history of work and everyday life in the north
The Elmshorn Industrial Museum shows the development of industry, technology, work and everyday life in Schleswig-Holstein in a vivid and interactive way. The museum in the historic warehouse building is located in the centre of Elmshorn, close to the railway station. Here in the museum of the city of Elmshorn, industrial and everyday history can be actively experienced.

Time clock, treadle sewing machine, corn mill, school desks with slates, railway station scales - there are lots of objects to try out!

Arrival by Car
By car:
Motorway BAB 23, exit Elmshorn/Glückstadt. Head towards the city centre / Hamburger Straße (leave the petrol station on the right), drive under the railway subway, then turn right into Berliner Straße (direction Bahnhof / ZOB), turn right into Schulstraße (direction Bahnhof / ZOB), take the first left = Catharinenstraße with the industrial museum on the left.
By train:
Take the DB or S-Bahn to Elmshorn. It is about a 2-minute walk to the museum. Exit Königstraße/direction city centre, after the subway turn right through the business pavilions across Bahnhofsplatz to Schulstraße. Then go straight on into Catharinenstraße. You will find us on the left-hand side. There are two bus stops near the museum: From the bus stops Bf. Elmshorn (ZOB) and Bf. Elmshorn (Holstenstraße) you can reach the museum in a few minutes on foot. The Konrad-Struve-Haus and the Jewish cemetery are both a three-minute walk from the museum.
