Während auf den Wahlplakaten der Besatzungszeit zum Teil noch die jüngste Vergangenheit angesprochen wurde, geriet mit Gründung der Bundesrepublik 1949 endgültig die Darstellung der Zukunft und des bisher Erreichten in den Fokus. Vor allem der wirtschaftliche Aufschwung bildete ein zentrales Thema der Zeit. Auf diesem SPD-Plakat fehlt allerdings jede Bezugnahme auf politisch relevante Themen. Es ist als reiner Hinweis auf die Partei zu verstehen und enthält keine verbindlichen Aussagen zu dem politischen Programm der SPD.
