Das Motiv zeigt drei Motorboote am Anleger liegend. Das Blatt gehört zu einer Mappe mit sechs Skizzen des Kieler Hafens von der Künstlerin Leonore Vespermann. Nur im Zusammenhang mit den anderen Blättern der Mappe erschließt sich die Darstellung als ein Kieler Motiv, da auf dem Blatt selbst Hinweise auf die Topografie fehlen. Im Gegensatz zu den anderen Skizzen, welche auch die Zerstörung der Stadt und des Hafens thematisieren, wird bei dieser Darstellung der künstlerische Impetus besonders deutlich. Das Blatt besitzt keinen dokumentarischen Charakter, sondern ein reizvolles Motiv wird im Bild festgehalten.
