Gemälde "Dr. Paul Wassily" des Künstlers Friedrich Schaper (* 13. November 1869 in Braunschweig; † 21. Februar 1956 in Hamburg), Öl auf Leinwand. Mit vielen Malern, deren Werke der Arzt, Maler und Kunstsammler Wassily für seine Sammlung erwarb, hielt er einen freundschaftlichen Kontakt. Häufig ließ er sich von diesen befreundeten Künstlern porträtieren. So auch von Friedrich Schaper, der Wassily auf diesem Gemälde im Halbprofil mit dunkler Anzugjacke und roter Krawatte malte. Entstanden ist das Gemälde vermutlich während Schapers Besuch bei Wassily in seiner neuen Wohnung in der Rathausstraße Nr. 2 im Juli 1949. Das Bild ist in einen breiten goldfarbenen Holzrahmen mit Schwanendekor eingefasst.
